Zero-Data Privacy Policy
Effective Date: September 2026 • No cloud storage • No accounts • No analytics
Zero-Data Architecture: No court documents, matter file numbers, party names, or Portal login credentials are ever collected, transmitted, or stored on any server. Everything executes locally inside your web browser, and your files go directly to your own hard drive.
This is permanent. No cloud sync, no user accounts, no document storage and no data collection will be added to ComDocs Pro — not as a paid tier, not as an opt-in feature, not in a later version.
1. Information We Do NOT Collect
ComDocs Pro is designed with complete client privilege and confidentiality in mind. We do not collect, transmit, or log:
- Any court documents, affidavits, applications, submissions, orders, or transcripts.
- Court file numbers (e.g. VID, NSD, MLG, SYD matters), court titles, or case metadata.
- Names of parties, solicitors, barristers, witnesses, children, or judicial officers.
- Commonwealth Courts Portal login details, passwords, or session authentication cookies.
- Portal browsing history or matter navigation activity.
2. Local Browser Operations (100% Client-Side)
All operations performed by ComDocs Pro occur entirely within your local browser sandbox:
- File Downloads: Court documents are requested directly from
comcourts.gov.au by your browser session and saved directly to your local PC's Downloads folder.
- Word Index Generation: The document index table (
00 - Index of documents.docx) is generated in-memory directly in your browser and saved to disk without contacting any external cloud service.
- Configuration & License State: Your naming preferences and license status are stored exclusively in your browser's local extension storage (
chrome.storage.local).
3. Payment & License Key Verification
When you purchase a subscription or firm pack, transactions are securely handled by our Merchant of Record and payment processing partner (Lemon Squeezy). When validating your license key:
- The extension verifies only the license key string against authorized seat allocations (Solo, Firm 5-Pack, Firm 15-Pack).
- No matter information, court details, or document data are ever attached to license verification requests.
- Moving your license: If you use "Move here" to switch your license to another computer, your license key is sent to our license service at
comdocspro.com, which asks Lemon Squeezy to release the other computer. The key is used only for that request and is never stored or logged. When a license is activated, Lemon Squeezy also records a label for the computer, such as "Edge on Windows". Nothing else is sent.
4. Our Permanent No-Cloud Commitment
ComDocs Pro is built deliberately with nowhere to send your data. We do not intend to change that, and we are not treating it as a limitation to be removed later. Specifically, we will not add:
- Cloud storage, backup, or synchronisation of downloaded court documents.
- User accounts, sign-in, or server-side profiles.
- Usage analytics, telemetry, session recording, or third-party tracking scripts inside the extension.
- Any sale, licensing, or disclosure of user data to advertisers, data brokers, or artificial intelligence training providers.
Handling other practitioners’ client documents on our servers is not a business we intend to be in. If a product with those features ever existed, it would be a separate product under a separate name — not a silent update to this one.
5. Your Own Professional Assessment
This policy describes how ComDocs Pro is built. It is a statement of fact about the software, not legal advice, and it is not a certification that your use of the software satisfies your particular professional or regulatory obligations. You remain responsible for assessing any tool you use against your own duties of confidentiality, your firm’s policies, and the rules of your regulator. We have tried to make that assessment a short one by ensuring there is no cloud component to assess.
6. Direct Inquiries & Privacy Contact
For questions regarding data privacy, compliance under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), or professional conduct rules, contact us directly at: support@comdocspro.com.
